Cornwall - The natural home of girls cricket in Auckland

Cornwall Cricket Club has the largest Girls' division of any cricket club in Auckland . We are able to cater for all junior girls from 5 - 18 years. Beginners at all levels are welcome.

From Year 1 - 4 girls play in mixed grades using "Incrediballs", a softer cricket ball made out of PVC foam, which looks and behaves like the real thing. There is no need for pads, gloves or other protective clothing in the Midget grades.

From Year 5, players graduate to the hardball and usually play in girls' only grades. At this level the club provides bat, pads and gloves for players to use.

Cornwall teams play in Auckland Cricket Association competitions -

  • Junior Hearts grade includes players in their first two years of cricket
  • Future Hearts grade which is for players up to 14 years.
  • Premier Youth grade which is for players up to and including Year 13

Cornwall Cricket Club provides a supportive environment for girls to play their cricket. Because of our player numbers, we can offer girls a level of cricket which is appropriate to their age and skill levels.

Girls cricket is very strong and well-established at Cornwall. We're very fortunate to have an enthusiastic group of skilled coaches, managers and administrators dedicated to encouraging girls to participate in cricket with enjoyment and success.
