At Cornwall, we strongly believe in being a club for the whole family. As such we fully encourage parents and caregivers to involve themselves in their child’s cricket at whatever level they can. Cricket at Cornwall simply cannot happen without the support and effort of parents and caregivers. This very much includes the coaching that goes on in the backyard as well as coaching in the team environment.
The club acknowledges the effort of all volunteers and the contribution that they make to the enjoyment of cricket for our members. This season, we will need in excess of 100 volunteer coaches. The coaching program will endeavour to support these volunteers as much as possible.
Support and assistance in the way of courses and additional coaching support will be available throughout the summer. Both the Auckland Cricket Association (ACA) and Cornwall itself will run coaching courses. This will help experienced coaches as well as parents and caregivers taking their first steps in coaching.
During the season, team coaches will have access to a team of Level Two coaches who will be available to assist with team practices on a rostered basis.
