Our policy is to cancel if at 7.00AM (or 3:45PM FRI) IT is raining and there is little prospect of the weather clearing. In some exceptional circumstances we may operate outside of these parameters but the main object is to get kids playing cricket whenever possible.
Cornwall Cricket in association with sportcheck.co.nz, uses text messaging (SMS) of cancellations. for Years 1 - 5.

There may be occasions when the Council decides to close Michael's Ave when Cornwall has not cancelled. In this situation, Ellerslie will place an announcement on NewstalkZB (announcements after the news at 7.00am). The radio which will state:
"All morning cricket games at Michael's Ave are cancelled"

Cancellations will usually be posted on http://www.aucc.co.nz/cancellation.htm by 7:00 - 7:15 a.m. on Saturdays.
We have no control over the above website but the feedback has been that the AUCC website is reliably updated.
Cancellations are also broadcast on NewstalkZB (1080khz on the am frequency) on Saturday mornings just after 7:00a.m. 7:30a.m. & 8:00a.m. You will need to listen carefully for:
Even though this is year 5 you need to listen for the year 6 -8 cancellations!!
Year 6 -8 Cricket Express Junior Leagues
To check for cancellations for Years 6 to 8 you need to either listen to the Newstalk ZB at 7.05am, 7.35am & 8.05am or check the University CC website on this link http://www.aucc.co.nz/cancellation.htm
The cancellation message on Newstalk ZB will sound like......
“All Year 6-8 Cricket Express Junior Leagues are cancelled” or “Year 6-8 Cricket Express Junior Leagues at (name of ground) are cancelled”.
Cancellations will NOT be posted on the ACA club cricket website by 7am as previously advised.
Following a change in procedure, Waikaraka Park does NOT have a separate cancellation announcement.
Girls Cricket
Listen to to the Newstalk ZB at 7.05am, 7.35am & 8.05am. Melville Park cancellations will sound like.....
"All morning girl’s cricket at Melville Park is cancelled"
Under 15 /Under 18 ACA afternoon grades:
Cancellations are rare. If in doubt contact your manager. Do not assume a cancellation. The ACA Infoline (815-4869) is the most reliable information source. Some closures are even posted on Friday night. Broadcasts are made on NewstalkZB during Saturday Morning.
