Bayleys Summer Bash

Cornwall Cricket Club, Wed Nov 8, 2017 11:57AM

Bayley’s Summer Bash

The Bayley’s Summer Bash (BSB) is about celebrating our summer game, the game so many of us love and enjoy playing throughout the country. It is designed for young cricketers across Auckland to take part in a three day T20 tournament. We are targeting years 5 & 6 (held on 14, 15 and 16 of January) and years 7 & 8 (held on 21, 22, and 23 of January).

Teja Nidamanuru is managing this project as part of a work placement for his sports management degree.  Teja has been playing at Cornwall since he was 6 years old and is currently playing for the Premier side. When asked why he took on the project Teja said, “I feel that young cricketers in Auckland do not get to play at Cornwall often, if at all, and I saw this as an opportunity to celebrate the summer game at the home of cricket in Auckland. I am very excited about doing this placement at Cornwall as I see it as an opportunity to give back to the club that has given so much to me”.

Teja went onto say “the tournament is about promoting the game of cricket, and giving the younger generation coming through the opportunity to play in coloured shirts, balls, and experience the fast, and action packed format of T20 cricket”.

Bayley’s One Tree Hill, in partnership with Cornwall Cricket Club, is excited about helping young cricketers participate in this carnival event.
